Once you have registered your daughter, Guiding passes the information to the unit & one of us will contact you to arrange a trial meeting
We ask all new Brownies to pay a joining fee of £15. This goes towards:
- Becoming a Brownie book
- Brownie Badge Book

- Promise badge, name tape, six emblem, county badge & Welcome to Brownies badge. These can go on your jacket or your sash if you choose to wear one
- Brownie sling bag
There is a termly fee of £20, which pays for unit materials, some trips out & rent for the hall.
There is also a census fee of approx. £28, which is paid annually to Head Quarters to cover running Girl Guiding UK,
Subscription fees are paid termly & should be paid in the first 3 weeks of term. We would prefer payments to be made directly to our Brownie Bank account.
If you have any problems with any of the cost associated with Brownies, please speak to one of us in confidence.
There are a variety of different pieces of uniform for girls to choose from. It is entirely up to the girls what they choose, although most of our girls have leggings, t shirt & jacket & most sew their badges on their jackets.
When Brownies reach 10 years old or before their 11th birthday, they are able to move up to Guides.
There is a Guide unit at Bishopton, which meets after Brownies on a Thursday from 7.30 pm – 9.00 pm. There are also 2 other Guide units in Stratford who meet on Monday evenings.
Guiding have recently introduced a new programme, which starts at rainbows & enables girls to build on the skills they learn throughout their time in Guiding.
